There’s a coziness to the season, a time when the smell of the ocean drifts through the air, storefronts glow with holiday lights, and neighbors greet one another a little more often on Commercial Street.

Later in the weekend, the town’s famous Lobster Pot Tree is lit in Lopes Square. Built from stacks of lobster traps and decorated with buoys, it’s a uniquely Cape Cod tradition that always draws a crowd.
Thanksgiving weekend also marks the start of The Canteen’s Holiday Market, where local vendors transform the outdoor space into a cozy European-style marketplace. Guests can browse handmade goods, sip mulled drinks, and enjoy seasonal bites while soaking in the holiday spirit.

Tin Pan Alley brings a relaxed but delicious holiday vibe to the table, while Fanizzi’s and Victor’s round out the lineup with their own takes on seasonal favorites. Menus change year to year, so it’s a good idea to peek at each restaurant’s website or social feed ahead of time.
If staying in sounds more your style (especially if your suite has a fireplace or jetted tub waiting), you’re in luck. Local favorites like Far Land Provisions, Angel Foods, and East End Market typically offer pre-order Thanksgiving dinners, everything from roast turkey and cranberry sauce to butternut squash soup and house-made pies. (Don’t worry, we won’t tell them you didn’t make the stuffing yourself.)

Joe Coffee, Kohi Coffee, and Bay Café have traditionally kept the caffeine flowing on Thanksgiving morning, perfect for grabbing a hot cup before a walk on the beach or settling in for a slow breakfast under the covers.
