Provincetown Pride (June 2-4, 2023)

Pride weekend kicks off the official summer season in P-Town, a celebration of our town’s diversity, inclusivity, and history as a place where LGBTQ+ people are accepted and championed. It’s one of the most popular annual events in Provincetown, MA on the yearly calendar, drawing in thousands of revelers to take in the festivities, which range from panels with poet laureates, activists, and state senators to a drag brunch, dance parties, and a recently-added 5k walk/run. Provincetown Film Festival (June 14-18, 2023)

Celebrating its 25th anniversary in 2023, this film festival has developed a stellar reputation for its offerings and programming quality. Rated as one of the “25 coolest film festivals in the world” by MovieMaker Magazine, over 100 films play around town over the four days, with narrative features and documentaries (both of which qualify for Academy Award voting) alongside more unique categories like queer films and New England short films. Every year they invite a special honoree, which in past years has included Ang Lee, Sofia Coppola, Quentin Tarantino, and John Waters. In addition to paying respect to the luminaries of the past, the fest shines a spotlight on up-and-coming filmmakers pushing boundaries, right in line with the rebellious and artistic bent of P-Town.

Portuguese Festival (June 22-25, 2023)

Portuguese culture is interwoven into the fabric of Provincetown, MA, dating back hundreds of years. Portuguese sailors and fishermen set down roots in town during the early chapters of Provincetown’s past, working the seas while their families formed the bedrock of the local community. Events vary from outdoor arts and crafts to film nights and all-ages dance parties, drawing families from over 30 other states and countries. Carnival (August 12-19, 2023)

Dating back to the late ‘70s and known as P-Town’s “original summer celebration,” Carnival is wild, glamorous, and over the top (in the best way). Each year brings a unique theme – 2023’s theme will be Land of Toys – so start getting your theme costumes ready for the non-stop parties and events held all week. It all culminates with the Carnival parade when people in costume pack the sidewalks of Commercial St (one street over from our location), and stunningly creative floats make their way from one end of town to the other. Carnival is a P-Town party unlike any other!
