Marina and Pier as the center of activitiesMarina and Pier: The Center of the Action

Provincetown is similar to most beach towns in that the marina is the central hub of activity, where the ocean and land converge. The Macmillan Pier, which extends into the harbor parallel to the marina, offers a unique opportunity for families to spend an afternoon watching sailboats coming and going, fisherman bringing in their catches, and absorbing the sights of one of the oldest ports in the United States. A 10-foot anchor, over 200 years old, is a cherished landmark and symbolizes the rich history of the marina district. After strolling around, cool off by grabbing an ice cream at Lewis Brothers, where everyone in the family will surely find something to enjoy from their menu of over 20 handmade flavors.

Using Bicycle to explore the place

Two-Wheeled Adventures for All

With its relatively small footprint and extensive trail system, Provincetown is bike-friendly for all ages and levels of cyclists. Conveniently located just a few blocks from the marina, Provincetown Bike Rentals is one of the newer bike stores in town. They’ve quickly developed a loyal following for their excellent service and bike selection. With both standard and electric bikes available, they offer various options to get the whole family on wheels and explore the beauty of the Cape. From the Provincetown Hotel, you have easy and safe access to bike routes extending in every direction, connecting you to the many adventures and allures of Provincetown.

Beach that is good for family day

Beach Days are the Best Days

After grabbing breakfast at one of the many restaurants in the downtown district, world-famous beaches surround you, setting up a perfect family day of sun and waves. With its calm waters and gentle white-sand dunes, Herring Cove Beach is well-loved and just a 2-mile bike ride down Bradford St, an artery through town and the street on which the Provincetown Hotel is located. The Herring Cove beach area is well-equipped with restrooms, spots to grab a midday snack, and plenty of space to stretch out on the sand and enjoy the sunshine. And don’t miss the sunset, as the views here are particularly spectacular; there’s no better way to wrap up a memorable day of family fun in Provincetown.
